HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA

HALIFAX  (pop. 440,000) is located directly on the Atlantic coast, and an ideal holiday destination to combine with your tennis or pickleball passions.  Practice your game at a wide choice of tennis courts which include indoor and outdoor acrylic or green clay courts.  Halifax has the most courts per capita of any city in Canada and you will never have trouble finding a court.  For the competitive player many events are run for all ages and levels.  Outside of tennis, Halifax is a small city that has it all with a vibrant restaurant and cultural scene.   It's a nature lovers paradise with hiking trails and beautiful lakes for swimming which are too numerous to mention.

NOVA SCOTIA  is Canada's ocean playground province, that’s easily discovered during your stay and boasts 6 Unesco World Heritage Sites.  In 2019 CNN rated Nova Scotia as one of the best places to visit in the world.  Sites of interest including the Cabot Trail rated as one of the most scenic drives in Canada,  or enjoy another scenic drive past the small fishing villages of Herring and Portuguese cove on the way to the iconic Peggy's Cove lighthouse.   Less than an hours drive from Halifax are the beautiful seaside towns of Mahone Bay, Chester and the Unesco designated town of Lunenburg.     Cross the province in less than an hour and visit Wolfville, Annapolis Royal, and the Annapolis Valley for vineyard tours or walk the ocean floor on the Bay of Fundy which has the largest tides in the world.   For an experience never to forget, SABLE ISLAND is a must (very limited bookings).  Last but not least, enjoy a few of the beautiful white sand beaches and provincial parks, many which are only a short distance from Halifax.    

 WEATHER    Halifax enjoys  perfect summers with warm sunny weather ideal for the avid tennis player.  The outdoor tennis/pickleball season runs late April and continues through to late Oct.
