Sites of interest including the Cabot Trail rated as one of the most scenic drives in Canada, or enjoy another scenic drive past the small fishing villages of Herring and Portuguese cove on the way to the iconic Peggy's Cove lighthouse. Less than an hours drive from Halifax are the beautiful seaside towns of Mahone Bay, Chester and the Unesco designated town of Lunenburg. Cross the province in less than an hour and visit Wolfville, Annapolis Royal, and the Annapolis Valley for vineyard tours or walk the ocean floor on the Bay of Fundy which has the largest tides in the world. WEATHER Halifax enjoys perfect summers with warm sunny weather ideal for the avid tennis player. The outdoor tennis/pickleball season runs late April and continues through to late Oct.
